In this article, we particularly focus on the panel discussions related to Web3 games, which garnered significant attention, and report on the future strategies for Japanese Web3 games.
HashPallet is providing Web3 wallets for the Osaka Expo, expecting over 10 million users. In the NFT reward program, more than 60 companies are sponsoring. Implementations such as granting experience points corresponding to visitors’ actions and issuing expo tokens are being carried out.
Osaka City is supporting Web3 startups as an innovation hub, and the hosting of EDCON and collaboration with APTOS are also in progress. Sony Block Solutions’ Sonium expanded to four members in three months through two leadership changes. They are the only ones in the world building systems to exclude criminal assets from theft chains and are uniquely constructing the framework to sort criminal property from theft chains. Sony is promoting the use of the entertainment domain in the entertainment sector.
The necessity of an “Artificial Legal Framework” related to AI was also discussed, and Kamo pointed out that CoinCheck has 40 staff members and a substantial budget in response to competition. CoinCheck has identified that 40 staff members and a large budget are necessary to meet the current demands in response to competition.

Matsugura Akira, CEO of Oasys PTE. LTD, took the stage and spoke about the future of Web3 games.
Mr. Matsugura emphasized that Oasys's greatest strength is its support for incorporating existing Web2 games into its ecosystem. Looking back at the history of Blockchain Games (BCGs), starting with the birth of "CryptoKitties" in 2018, he mentioned how "AXIE" became a means of rescue for people who couldn't continue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He introduced the current situation where new and unique games are being born one after another.
Even in a declining market trend, Mr. Matsugura emphasized that "After finance, gaming will surely come." Positioning 2025 as the "Year of Destruction and Creation," he predicted the advent of a new era of gaming utilizing tokens and blockchain unique to Web3.
Looking to future trends, there is growing attention on the tokenization of real assets and the creation of a wide variety of coins. Through the tokenization of real assets, every experience on the blockchain can be turned into assets, envisioning a future where the real world becomes part of the virtual world.
Furthermore, he pointed out that an era is coming where users themselves generate play and value, moving away from hype-centric liquidity. At Oasys, the Japanese version of the casual token launch tool "Yukichi.fun" is set to start in April 2025. He also revealed that a Japanese version of the project launch tool, which allows for token issuance and support via crowdfunding, is under development.
At the "TEAMZ (Team Zero)" Web3/AI Summit 2025, Japan's potential for a next-generation digital economy became clear. In terms of legal framework development, progress is being made at world-class speeds, with the systematic design of tokenized assets and Web3 payments steadily advancing.
If these regulatory developments continue, an environment where individuals and companies can safely participate in Web3 will be established, accelerating the growth of the entire industry. On the other hand, the rapid development of AI technology is also raising challenges such as agile legal system responses and optimization of compliance.
Japan-originated Web3 games and token economies have the potential to play a central role in the next-generation internet economy. As international cooperation deepens, expectations are rising that innovation leveraging Japan's unique strengths will lead the world.
